Lots of Music, No Artwork

Tonight's share is "The Glory of Christmas", a 3-record box set produced by Columbia Musical Treasuries in the 1960s.    Here's all I know about it.  Its album number is P3S 5363.  Its executive producer was Betsy Cohen.  Ron Lockhart was the producer, and Frank Decker was the engineer.  It was recorded in TotalSound, which sounds very exciting.  There are no musicians listed anywhere.  Another Christmas Mystery.

What I can tell you is that it's a good, diverse selection of Christmas music - 48 songs in all.  Secular, traditional carols, religious hyms - all here.  Ultra-popular ("White Christmas").  Lesser known ("When Christmas Comes", "Joseph Dearest, Joseph Mine").  A grand collection of music.

About the artwork.  The records came in a box set, and, honestly, I can't fit the box cover in my scanner.  It's not a great loss, as the cover is not in very good shape.

So, here's a download link to a set of 48 Christmas Songs in A Columbia Musical Treasury.  Enjoy!

  3. Thanks King - that is indeed the cover art. Now imagine that with much more wear and some wrinkles in the paper and you've got my album box cover.

  5. What is a good desktop computer for recording music with pro tools and watching (maybe editing) lots of video?

  6. I do my work on a Dell Inspiron laptop that is approaching 3 years old, and it's nothing fancy. For the audio work I use Audacity and ClickRepair. Album art is scanned in pieces on an HP all-in-one printer/scanner/copier and then composited together using MicroSoft ICE. I don't do much video editing at all. For amateur-hobby work, a standard mid-range laptop will work. Don't know what the requirements would be for more intense pro-level work.

  7. Thank you for giving a gift that takes some back to childhood.

The recorded music played from my parents' stereo and particularly, Columbia Musical Treasuries, is a source of part of my identity from back then.

It's a tremendous joy to hear these treasures again. Thank you!

  9. Shazam told me this morning that the artist is Terry Baxter And His Orchestra. Not sure why they think they know that, so take it for what it's worth...

  10. Is there any place to download this? I bought it as a teen in the late 60"s and now it's unfindable. I'm 63, can you help me listen to this before I die?
