I want to give a quick shout-out to Buster and his terrific music blog Big 10-Inch Record. Buster has been doing this sharity thing for about 3 years now. You can find top-quality rips of some really great music over at his place. Adding to the music is Buster's info about the artists and their recordings. Big 10-Inch Record is a great place to visit for music aficionados and even the more casual listeners. Stop by Buster's, and tell him Der Bingle sent you.

Wanda Jackson #1
I've got a great treat for you today. Wanda Jackson was known as the Queen of Rockabilly. She was known as the female Elvis. She was Elvis' girlfriend for a while. Wanda recorded some great, great stuff in the rockabilly and country music genres, and she is still active in the recording industry. Just a couple months back she released a new album, produced by Jack White (of the White Stripes).
I'm very pleased to be able to share "Reckless Love Affair", a 1967 release of 12 songs. This album is closer to pure country than the rock-n-roll/rockabilly of her earlier recordings. It was also one of her best-selling records, peaking at #17 on the country music charts.
1 Reckless Love Affair
2 The Box It Came In
3 Look Out Heart
4 Because It's You5 What Have We Done
6 This Gun Don't Care
7 Tears Will Be The Chaser For Your Wine
8 I Wonder If She Knows
9 Long As I Have You
10 Let Me Talk To You
11 My Baby's Gone
12 You Can't Make A Heel Toe The Mark
So, does the title of this post, Wanda Jackson #1, imply that there is more Wanda Jackson to come? Perhaps... :-)
Please enjoy "Reckless Love Affair"

Record Store Day
Today (April 16) is Record Store Day, where records stores across the US (and world?) hold events to drum up interest and business at their good ol' brick and mortar stores, with their thousands of records and hours of great music. I went down to the local record store and picked up a few new records, some really good stuff. If it's out of print, you'll see it here eventually.
Find of the day: "Encore" by Jamie and the J. Silvia Singers. Previously, Jamie was featured with "J's with Jamie", and produced some outstanding recordings, including some of my favorite Christmas performances. I'll get "Encore" transferred over and post it here soon.

The Happy Go Lucky Sound of The Three Suns
It's the last weekend before Tax Day. Taxes don't make us feel too happy-go-lucky, even with the extra days this year. To add a little more Happy to your Go-Lucky, here is another fine recording from The Three Suns.
This Three Suns record features Al Nevins, Mortie Dunn, and Artie Dunn as the core of the Suns, but they add musicians throughout the record. "Perdido" swells The Three Suns to 13 performers! Guess they would be The Thirteen Suns.
Finish up your taxes, and enjoy another record from the magnificent Three Suns!
